1. "Yesterday" (1965)
The Dream That Became a Hit: Paul McCartney woke up with this melody in his head and spent weeks convincing himself he hadn't stolen it. The original working title was "Scrambled Eggs."
Recording First: This was the first Beatles recording to feature just one member (Paul) with studio musicians - a string quartet arranged by George Martin.
Legacy: With over 2,200 cover versions, it holds the Guinness World Record for most covered song.
2. "Here, There and Everywhere" (1966)
McCartney's Masterpiece: Written during the Revolver sessions, Paul cited this as his personal favorite among his compositions.
Studio Magic: The Beatles used vari speed recording (slowing down the tape) to achieve the dreamy vocal harmonies.
Lennon's Praise: Despite their rivalry, John Lennon called this "one of my favorite songs of the Beatles'."
3. "Hey Jude" (1968)
From "Jules" to "Jude": Originally written as "Hey Jules" to comfort 5-year-old Julian Lennon during his parents' divorce.
Record-Breaking: At 7:11, it was the longest #1 single at the time (the fadeout alone is over 4 minutes).
Live Legend: The famous "na-na-na" coda was completely improvised and lasted so long that studio engineers had to bring in extra chairs!
